Pay It Forward: Kitchen Coach Alma Schneider

Alma Schneider is not a scold. She's a guitar-playing/social working/sunny-side-up mother of four who is determined to help people take better care of themselves and their families.

"How do you find the time to cook so much?" is a question I am often asked. The answer is simple: I have easy strategies that you can learn. There is no magic here..."

Her blog, Take Back the Kitchen, "is dedicated to helping people recognize and overcome the common and unique psychological and practical obstacles to being everything they hope to be in the kitchen."

Pay It Forward: The Clay Rosary Girl

One of my sisters introduced me to Sarah Harkins, A.K.A. the Clay Rosary Girl.

She's a homeschooling mom of three who also creates gorgeous clay rosaries and jewelry. While I never have met Sarah in real life, I love reading her blog.

I love seeing photographs of her beautiful children.

And I love her work. (Here's her St. Andrew Chaplet).

Visit her blog and say hello!

Pay It Forward: The Gardeners at Tend

Consider me an armchair vegetable gardener. I think about growing our own food. I love the idea of growing our own food. But I never have.  I love reading about others who do. I do, however, shop at farmers' markets and I do my best to buy food that is locally grown because I think that is better for our family and for the planet. A blog called "tend" is inspiring me to become more adventuresome with the kinds of vegetables I purchase and prepare for my family.

This ad-free blog, which started in April, now is one of my favorite places on the web to visit. The design and concept are simple: five writers from five different growing zones in the United States contribute to this blog. They post pictures and talk about the various vegetables growing in their gardens. They offer recipes or ideas on how to eat these vegetables.

The post on okra last Thursday inspired me to buy some at our downtown's farmer's market the following day. So check "tend" out!  And leave the ladies a messages about how they've inspired you. And let me know what websites or blogs inspire you to feed your family more healthful food.
