Happy Independence Day!

Those of us born in this country and those of us who have adopted it as our home are really blessed. I hope you had a spectacular Fourth of July today. What did you do? Today we broke a family tradition of staying home and grilling and went to not one but two different barbecues to which we were invited. I took pictures early in the afternoon and wanted to share.

Quinoa salad I made, with mangos, blueberries, dried cranberries and cucumbers. The corn on the cob went into a separate salad - with cilantro, black beans, red peppers and more.

Not my hat and not my chair but something just says summer to me about this.

Bubba Burgers on the grill at barbecue #1.

Shot this one in our front yard before driving to barbecue #2.
I am thinking of planting more hydrangeas in the yard.

  1. We stayed at home and grilled with my parents and some friends. It was so relaxing! We can see the fireworks at one of the Country Clubs from our house. It was great.

    1. That sounds ideal, Julie. No driving and yet you were able to see fireworks!
