Today was a whirlwind of errands, as I prepared for a dessert potluck on our front porch for a dear friend who is moving home to Milano. M. leads our School of Community. It was bittersweet to say goodbye. "A faithful friend is a strong support; whoever finds one has found a treasure" (Sirach 6:14ff.).
While I was busy buying ice cream bowls and cloth napkins at TJMaxx, I bought myself a pair of ultrafeminine gardening gloves. Like the ones here. Will they actually motivate me to start weeding? Let's see if they ever get dirty.

BTW I purchased new garden gloves two weeks ago and have put them to use. NO weeding yet just lots of planting. I just hope the plants take in this "summer heat".
