The lovely Celeste at Sacred Sharings For the Soul surprised me with a nomination for a Liebster award. This award originated in Germany a few years ago by a woman named Jasmin and is a way for bloggers to recognize and recommend each other.
Thank you, Celeste! I am going to follow her lead and "award" four fellow bloggers:
Paula, Marissa, Heidi, and Sarah. Now Sarah has more than 200 followers, but hey people, I knew her way back when. Well, only three years ago but that is like a whole generation in bloggyland.
Here are my 11 questions for my nominees....
1. What delights you most about your life right now?

Here are my 11 questions for my nominees....
1. What delights you most about your life right now?
2. What about your adult life is a surprise in terms of what you imagined as a child your adult life would be like?
3. Where did you grow up and how far is it from where you live now?
4. What did you like best about being a child?
5. What do you like about being a grown up?
6.. What do you think the value of old age is?
7. What do you like to do with your hands in terms of crafts, cooking etc?
8. Do you like to write letters or postcards?
9. If you were coming to a potluck at my house, what would you bring?
10. Does your family read your blog? Why or why not?
11. If you could pick one adjective that you'd like people to associate with you, what would it be?
And now....here are my answers to Celeste's questions:
1) Where do you find the most peace?
Snuggling with my husband in bed.
2) What is your favorite childhood memory?
Swimming!
3) Who is your favorite Saint?
I am not a person who likes to pick out favorites. Right now, the saint I am asking to pray for me and my intentions is St. Rita of Cascia. She is my Lenten companion.
Again, not loving the idea of "favorites." A book I adored was Mark Twain's Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc.
5) If you could visit one country where would you go?
I have to pick just one? India, Italy and Mexico all interest me right now.
6) Who is your biggest mentor?
The Blessed Mother. All of our earthly mothers, including me with our sons, are flawed. The Blessed Mother comforts me and lets me know how to grow in love.
7) Do you have a favorite prayer? Prayer time?
I love Glory Be. Is that a prayer? My prayer life is not as structured as I would like it to be, but I always pray as I fall asleep. Usually the rosary.
8) What is your favorite food?
Seriously: have you seen what I look like? I love food. If I had to pick a favorite meal, I would say a slice freshly baked bread with butter and a bit of honey. Doesn't that sound good?
9) What is most misunderstood about you?
My faith.
10) If you could have coffee/tea with one person who would it be?
One person? Come on! Truly, right now I would love to have coffee or tea with one of my girlfriends at the kitchen table. Instead, while I cook for a music fundraiser tonight I will be decluttering the pantry and clearing the kitchen table of all the crap piled on it. And nudging my son to do his overdue Algebra homework.
11) What is your pet peeve?
As a teacher, one of my pet peeves is when students slouch back and put their feet on the chairs in front of them. Or when they lean back in their chairs. Or when they sit on desks or the radiators by the wintdows. Use stuff for what it is built for.
(I am writing this with my own feet up on the sofa on a pile of clean laundry. But hey, I am not working right now!)
Wow! Thanks Allison!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading this! I did not know this about Mark Twain. I will have to check out that book. I finished your questionnaire. It was great fun. Thanks for the nomination!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU for being in my life (cyberly!)
