Introducing My Beloved, Who Survived the World Trade Center Attacks

This is my husband, Greg, on our recent vacation in New Brunswick, Canada. Isn't he handsome?! Ten years ago, he escaped from his office the 68th floor of Tower One of the World Trade Center within 11 minutes of the tower collapsing. His story, in brief, is here.

In years past, we have had many media calls close to the anniversary, asking Greg to tell his story. This year, we have had few, in part because our current emails no longer are attached to writings we have published on our experiences. This is fine with us.

Recently, Greg wrote a reflection from his perspective 10 years out. Once it is up on the Rutgers University website, I will let you know.

Be strong and steadfast; have no fear or dread of them, for it is the LORD, your God, who marches with you; he will never fail you or forsake you.

  1. Allison, I just read the story of Greg's escape. I can't even imagine what you were going through that day. I know how upset and freaked out I was watching all of that unfold (I was glued to the TV) and I didn't even directly know anyone in the towers. I'm sure this 10yr. anniversary will be an emotional one for all but especially for those that survived in one way or another. My thoughts will be with you and your family on 9/11/11. 2. I'm sitting here crying; I am so glad that he is alive and well and that you are here and that I get to know you, from afar. (For the moment, maybe in person soon.)

The tie, the shoes... sacramental objects. What a story. God bless you all.

I was in midtown that day - where I was every day. I am trying to find the words, they are not coming.
